Making it easy for the travellers to visit these states with a single visa. The benefits of Schengen visit visa is, if a person visiting the Schengen area has a Schengen visa then that person can cross the borders of the Schengen countries, means he/she is free from the border checks. It has also decreased the cost of border control as internal borders within the Schengen Area no longer have to be patrolled and increased the harmonized entry. Improved the collaboration between authorities (police, visa authorities) and the member countries.
But do not get carried away, despite the extent of the freedom guaranteed by the Schengen Area, the authorities can carry out checks at internal borders and in border areas, in specific circumstances. The authorities have all the rights to ask information from people at internal borders about the stay in Schengen Zone and additional associated questions in special circumstances.
At the time of serious security threat, a Schengen country can reintroduce border checks at its internal borders for 30 days but not more than that.
