Booming Australia tourism has seen huge earnings in the past few years. If growth is stable then the target of overnight expenditure by a visitor to reach $115 billion per year by the end of this decade. The new forecast by Tourism Research Australia’s (TRA) Tourism suggests that it could reach $127 billion by the year 2020.
John O’Sullivan, Tourism Australia managing director, said that ‘With international and domestic tourism spending being forecast upwards, the progress we’re making towards the Tourism 2020 targets is clearly accelerating,’
There is a lot of optimism and Australia has to develop more tourism infrastructure to reach the target. Its tourism has the potential to reach of $140 billion per year by 2020. The spending of international travelers in the Australia increased by 31 percent in 2014/2015 and target set to increase by 41 percent 2024/2025.
In the fast half of the 2016 Sydney Airport saw a record number of 20.3 million passengers, the officials quoted it as ‘exceptional’ and indeed it indicates the overwhelming response to the initiative of Australia Tourism.
